From November 9 to 11, 2024, the beaches of Anglet hosted the 10th edition of the French leg of the Euro Bodysurf Tour, bringing together Europe’s best bodysurfers for an exceptional event. Organized by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Surf League with support from the French Bodysurf Commission and the City of Anglet, this event marked its second consecutive year as an IBSA BWT QS qualifying stage on the world tour.
Anglet: a pillar of European bodysurfing
As a key moment in the 2024 Euro Bodysurf Tour, this competition once again showcased Anglet as a premier destination for European bodysurfing. Despite challenging and ever-changing wave conditions, athletes across multiple categories (Open, Women, Juniors, Women Juniors, Masters+, Kahunas+, and Women Masters) delivered outstanding performances.
Broadcast live on social media with commentary by Guillaume Billy and Paul Grieumard, the competition captivated audiences worldwide. The Open and Women’s divisions were particularly thrilling.
A standout moment for the competition was its media coverage, including a feature on France 3, which brought the excitement of the event to a broader audience and highlighted the artistry and skill of the athletes in this growing sport.
Niels Schorsch and Uhaina Kalani Hegoas once again emerged victorious at this season’s end, following their wins at the French Bodysurf Championships in Capbreton.

1. Niels Schorsch (France) - Total score: 15.2, winning the final with a 3.16-point lead.
2. Alix Schorsch (France) - Score: 12.04.
3. Pako Junca Iturriaga (France) - Score: 11.74.
4. Kevin Groisy (France) - Score: 9.04.
The final was closely contested before Niels took the lead with a major wave. Alix held a strong position, while Pako showed promise but couldn’t capitalize on key waves. Kevin remained slightly behind, giving the impression he could recover at any moment.

1. Uhaina Hegoas (France) - Total score: 9.5, dominating the final with a 2.17-point lead.
2. Nina Declercq (France) - Score: 7.33.
3. Orane Luquet (France) - Score: 6.83.
4. Ambre Gautier (France) - Showed her best despite challenging conditions.
Uhaina led the category, while Nina and Orane stayed competitive. Orane took the best wave of the final, but an interference prevented her from claiming a higher spot. Ambre struggled to find the right wave in difficult conditions.
